true true true true true! every woman should own pair of knock down, drag out heels- heels that make you feel like your legs are a mile long and ready for the cat walk!
true. because women who don't wear heels will be judged for it by some, regardless of how things have changed. plus, despite the physical similarities of heels to the chinese practice of foot binding, they do change the posture and make a woman's body look better to men, whether the men consciously realize the difference or not. although, there are also those women who clearly can't walk in heels or who are suffering so much in them that it's not attractive. and yet, they do it because it's expected of them.
for the record, i agree gender constructs are lame, but i think they exist whether we like it or not. and i don't think we have to conform to them, but they're there.
Cate, can you print me a "gender constructs are lame" bumper sticker?
Leslie, I have heard through reliable online news sources (maybe jezebel?) that flip flops cause more foot and leg injuries than high heels. (no arch support, we wear them for extended periods of time, toe injuries, weird gripping causes shin injuries etc).
Respectfully disagree to your disagreement. See, yall women do lots of things because you think we care. Believe me, we are superficial about some this, but this ranks so low on the list that if you all decided to nix the heels we'd barely complain

false. wearing heels is part of being a woman to some.
i do love me some pretty heels though.
False, yall don't look very comfortable and aren't really a necessity in attracting dudes, at least in my book.

false. now i love me some fabulous heels, but gender constructs are lame.
...or a man! We should not be gender specific on this question!

True I love me some gender constructs!
Does this mean I have to buy the pair of heels Sara showed me yesterday that are four inches and not wear my fit flops out every night?

Oh not flip flops. Fit flops. They're literally all I can wear anymore. They're like sneakers that show off a pedicure.
john, i respectfully disagree. surely some men would complain about how we don't look as good in flats.
KP, bumper stickers for everyone!
