I'm sure I'll spend a hungover Saturday watching the movie when it comes out, but my goodness did I dislike that book. I honestly found nothing to like about her and there were no life revelations for me.

(my captcha today is "aerin". this makes me happy)

wouldn't it be nice if we could all just take a year off anytime we were overwhelmed with life? thumbs down for glorifying privileged people, especially in this economy.

thumbs down. from what i've heard (never read the book), it's a very overly wonderful depiction of how great life is after a heartbreaking divorce. did you know all 40-something divorcees get to sleep with james franco and javier bardem? that was news to me...but perhaps a very important and realistic thing for people in her situation to realize.

Am I the only person who hated that book??

I couldn't get past the New York part of the book. I saw the movie yesterday thanks to fun friends and I now want to dive face first into a bowl of pasta and meet a Brazilian man.

Haven't seen the movie but was going to just to see if it was any better than the book. The italy part of the book was hilarious but then it started to get kind of slow and whiny for my taste...

Hmmmm, do I have to do all three?

I guess I could put up with praying if I could also get my eat and love on. I could probably do all three at the same time. Being a good catholic, I could mumble through an Our Father has awake.
