If you were a gay man going on a dinner date, wanting to bring something (but not flowers) for your date when you pick him up, what would you bring?

is this question to help matt on his "first" date?

it's hard finding the right date gift for a man.  i would say a bottle of nice liquor or bake him some cookies/brownies.

A nice bottle of lube for him and a nice bottle of vodka for me always makes a date go exceptionally well ... unless your date is with Mick Jagger.  Yeah, Google what I said about that.  Am I right ladies?

I would bring chocolates from ACKC.

I'd bring a bible to show that gay man the part where Jesus says he's living a life of sin.

That part is...now hold on...I swear it's in here...let me look...

this is the hardest QOTD ever! flowers work because they are special, beautiful, rife with symbolism, and ephemeral - they die. what else is special, beautiful, symbolic and temporary?! this is too hard!

Something personal if I knew him. Some small foodie gift like special salt or something. Alcohol. Cate, if you want ephemeral, bring him ice cream :)

not super creative, but I think wine works great. If the date goes well, you can share it after!

a rainbow refrigerator magnet or some other not too personal accessory with a rainbow on it

I'm told that gay porn works too

A cupcake. But that could be because I love cupcakes so much and kind of wish someone would deliver one to my desk.

After reading the posting, I agree, chocolate...to share (after the dinner date)!

I like to test my first dates....I'd bring a small adopted orphan from Malawi and ask him if he wanted to adopt this brown spicy baby with me if not it's a total deal breaker....if I know in advance he is dull and ugly I'd bring him a sign to wear around his neck that says:
"I'm dull and ugly."
