When you go to a busy place that has a large parking lot, do you opt for the first spot you can find or the closest to your target?

This question makes me think I need a vespa. Or just something that involves wheels and me not exerting physical effort to manipulate them.

I used to go for the closest spot but since I turned 30 1/2 and now only wear comfortable shoes I'm going with the first spot 7 out of 10 times.

Ya know, when you ride a bicycle, the first spot you find is usually the closest, too....

i look for the closest spot. i hate it when people pass closer spots to park in some random special spot that has no redeeming feature.

Even on a nice day, I'll go for the closest spot. I hate it when I pick a far away spot and then realize there was rock star parking right up near the door.

I'll take one pass to see if there's a close spot, but I think it's dumb to search for a longer period of time than the walk from a further-away open spot. I'm about saving time rather than steps.
