What was the motivation for this question? None, although I sometimes marinade fruit in balsamic vinegar.

Yummmm. Salted tomato on a bagel with mayo. Perfect summer breakfast. Or lunch.

I think I may have to go get a bagel with tomato and salt right now.

Oh and my answer would be tomatoes and cucumbers. They both flower and have seeds so that makes them fruit, right?

Lastly, Coach Mike, today's question was inspired by John's response to yesterday's QotD where he wrote, "My mom tightly controlled that for us. It was usually something like apples. Sometimes when she was home she'd cut them about an hour before so they got nice and brown, then sprinkle salt on them for no fucking good reason."

Salted watermelon is awesome. When I slice up tomatoes, I always (ALWAYS) slice off the bottom really thin, sprinkle some kosher salt on it and eat it just like that. Chef's privilege :)
