Should carrot cake contain raisins?

I like raisins in oatmeal and oatmeal cookies. They are nature's candy and delicious. But they are a sure fire way to ruin a good carrot cake.

The cake is perfection without it. It could contain chocolate chips, but maybe that's ambitious.

i don't think carrot cake should even exist, so i'm indifferent. in general though i'm not a big fan of raisins in things. on their own they're ok.

I've been told that I make too many value judgments about food. So, I prefer carrot cake sans raisins, but it does not follow that carrot cake in general should not.
