What are your thoughts on Neti pots?

you mean nasal douches?

Rob, that's disgusting. They're actually nasal enemas.

All I can say is I felt terrible from Sunday to Wednesday last week. Don't know if it was seasonal allergies or a sinus infection. Bought a neti pot. Next day I felt fine. If you are congested I highly recommend it.

I have many friends that like them, but I ended up with a monster ear infection after using one.

never used one, but i have friends that swear by them. there's one under the bathroom sink if you want to test it out and report back.

Why do Rob and Sean know so much about enemas and douching? Is there something they need to tell us?

I bought one. Used it once. Didn't work. Haven't conducted a follow-up experiment yet.

i used one for the first time yesterday. maybe i did it wrong, but it stung and there were tears streaming down my face. i do feel better than yesterday, but am still congested, so the jury is out.

Sounds awful. But then again, my allergies aren't very bad.

I think they're creepy and weird. That said, I own one and the results are amazing.

neti pots are brilliant and gross.

Cate, did you put the saline solution in it? If you squirt plain water into your nose it's the worst feeling ever, but with the salt, it's great. I have gone one step above and use the nasal blaster, which is like the Saturn V rocket version of the Neti pot - if there's anything in your nose beforehand, it won't be there afterwards. Once is day is fine, anymore than that and you risk stripping the beneficial lining in your nose. I swear by this like I swear by giving blood every two months.

I second Tamika. I was really hesitant and kind of creeped out by them, but if you have any allergies, they are amazing. That being said, I would never, ever let anyone see me using it and keep it hidden in my bathroom.

neti pots are the jam! esp if you have nasal allergies and suffer from sinusitis (like me booo).

please note, it too me a good two years to get over the creepy factor of what you acutally do w/ a neti pot.

I hate them but with my seasonal allergies - I have no choice but to
use them. Gross.
