HIMYM!

I raise you three bridges!

I watched neither. This question is bogus. BOGUS! 24 was awesome last night though.

I loved Friends, but I'm into How I Met Your Mother these days. Thanks Meg.

I'd have to go with HIMYM on general principle.

*salute for General Principle*

HIMYM by default. I don't even watch it, but it's got to be better than Friends.

i'm with tim, 24!!!

you all know how i feel about friends. remember norris? i must say that i do enjoy HIMYM, especially NPH.

Neither. I'm a hater.

F all the way. MP is so great in that, but ML and DS are very underrated. LK was always my favorite gal, and I had some annoyance with JA and especially CC, or sorry now it's CC-A.

24 is only network show I watch. No spoilers from last night. I want to go Jack Bauer on a friend who ruined last week's spoiler for me.

I prefer How I Met Your Mother.

Could there be HIMYM without the successful Friends model though?

Never seen How I Met Your Mother, although the commercial make it look funny.

Friends went through a period where it was brilliant, but then dropped off later years. Still, have to go w/ Friends based on their their good seasons.

Will & Grace. I don't conform to the hetero-normative culture.

John's post was difficult to read.

I'm with Cate, I don't think HIMYM would have been as successful without the Friends model.

I am an HIMYM fan but I think it is because I was 1/2 a generation too young to get Friends. The HIMYM cast is my age so it is all so much more relevant. Plus they hang out at a bar instead of at a coffee shop.

And I do love NPH lots.

Sorry for the heteronormative question, Andrew.

As they would say on Friends, This is like Sophie's choice!

I like Cate's point about Friends providing the platform for other shows based around a group of friends in once centrally located hang out spot.

The comedy is very different between the two and I love both, so I refuse to choose.

How I met your mother. no question. Don't ask my why I watch it. it's actually funny.

Unfortunately both sitcoms fall prey to "OMG THE WORLD IS FULL OF WHITE PEOPLE".

Andrew and Nerdette:

OMG THE WORLD IS FULL OF STRAIGHT, WHITE PEOPLE

Man! or should I say Wo/Man!

Both of these fine shows take place in NYC, the BEST city in the WORLD. Enough said...
