Name brand: conditioner. Pantene Pro V. Only the best.

Generic: shampoo.

Generics = only antibiotics, if there is a significant co-pay savings. Otherwise, name brand for me for that and everything else.

I am a sucker for marketing.

Coke. I developed a healthy resolve to buy Coke brand after years of my mom making us drink grocery store brands, Shasta, etc.

What I also find curious is the list of products for which there is no generic/store brand equivalent. Tampons, for example.

I think there are food brands that I am loyal to but can you believe I can't remember any of them? Their branding clearly sux.

Also I love Starbucks coffee, even though they are the Red Lobster of coffee and burn their beans.

I won't ever buy generic garbage bags. Safeway brand-name 13-gallon garbage bags are total POS's, and it took one too many torn bags and resulting trash all over the floor to realize this.

Name Brand: Vodka
Generic: Olives

Name brand: def. agree on the garbage bags. and skin care products. I love Aveeno and all the random "extracts" they keep coming up with.

Generic: prescriptions and cheetos. generic cheetos (the fluffy kind, not the crunchy kind) are lighter and airier and are delicious when stale.

Name brand: Tide. I am loyal to Tide and get really nervous my clothes will be ruined if I use another laundry detergent. (This is insane and I can't explain it.)

Generic: Most every packaged food product in the grocery store (cream cheese, pasta, OJ, cookies, pretzels, etc.)

BUT for some reason I must buy Yoplait yogurt and Classico/Barilla pasta sauce.

varies a lot, I definitely skew toward name brands...but not necessarily the same brand every time.

Does Whole Foods store brand count as generic? I mean, because it's the store brand, but, Whole Foods is kind of a brand of its own. Are you minds blown right now?

I always buy name brand toilet paper. I almost always buy generic pain reliever (aceptaminophen and ibuprofen) but, for some reason, I am a sucker for aleve. But toilet paper is a big one. When I got my first full time job I swore I would never buy generic toilet paper again.
