What song do you love despite the fact that you don't love the lyrics?

the one that says "i can ride my bike with no handle bars" i don't know why i like it, the words are so stupid, but the tune i can't usually get out of my head

I'm stumped right now even though there are LOTS of examples. I suppose just about any great dance song.

Most of the songs in Empire Records. Most songs by Beyonce or Rihanna. Most of my favorite songs to dance to in bars. Lyrics really aren't all that important in those contexts.

Oh i've got one! Sexyback by Justin Timberlake. I mean, "bringing sexy back?" where did sexy go? but I freaking LOVE that song.

Prolly anything by Jay-Z. Somehow I manage to ignore the flat-out misogyny and just focus on getting my swerve on. Somehow.

Beyonce's "Irreplaceable"

"You must not know 'bout me, you must not know 'bout me. I can have another you in a minute, and infact he'll be here in a minute, baby."

The way she rhymes "minute" with "minute" is annoying.

Second Andrew! That is perfect. I so agree on the minute/minute rhyme.

I can see my work day productivity fading before my eyes...

also need to add about 99% of the songs from Interpol and Nine Inch Nails. Great songs, but they lyrics make me want to call the police on them.

Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive" when he says "I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all." "Rocked them all?" Really?

Since U Been Gone. Again, awesome song, but 1) I hate using "U" instead of "you" and 2)

But since you been gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so movin' on, yeah, yeah
Thanks to you, now I get, I get what I want
Since you been gone

You had your chance, you blew it
Out of sight, out of mind
Shut your mouth, I just can't take it
Again and again and again and again

I mean, for sure not the worst lyrics ever, but also not the best. However, the awesomeness of that song is not up for debate.

Still working on this one. Tough qotd leslie.

In regards to Since U Been Gone, a few years ago a girl in my building was singing this song at the top of her lungs for about 2 and a half hours. No exageration. I hope she didn't realize other people could hear her. So I guess this could be a song I hate with bad lyrics.

Oh-Oh-Oh Oh-Ooooooh-Oh

I can't get Beyonce's new song out of my head...

Also, the Daughters song by John Mayer. Megan Northrup made me realize how crappy the lyrics are in that tune.

its a british song called China in Your Hand by eighties power ballad factory T'PAU

NOT ONE OF THESE LYRICS MAKES SENSE

It was a theme she had
On a scheme he had
told in a foreign land
To take life on earth
To the second birth
and the man was in
command
It was a flight on the wings
Of a young girls dreams
That flew too far away
And we could make the monster live again
Oh hands move and heart beat on
Now life will return in this electric storm
A prophecy for a fantasy
The curse of a vivid
mind
Don't push too far
Your Dreams are china in your hand
Don't wish too hard
Because they may come true
And you can't help them
You don't know what you might
Have set upon yourself
China in your hand
Come from greed
Never born of the seed
T
ook life from a barren hand
On eyes wide
Like a child in the form of a man
A story told
A mind of his own
An omen for our time
We take a flight on the wings of fantasy
Then you push too far
And make your dreams reality
Yeah! china in your hand
B
ut they're only dreams
And you shouldn't push too far
