I love scones! buttery deliciousness. I used to eat a scone almost every day from the bakery at college...then I found out they had like 1000 calories. sigh.
I wonder why ask this? Leslie? I think they're pretty good, but not the Starbuck's variety. Ya gotta get the real thing... and preferably, in England. I must say though, I do like Welsh Cakes better.
they're a bit dry, but if they achieve the right consistency so that one can spread butter or jam on them easily without having the whole thing fall apart, then they are delicious.
I've always been curious about scones. One of my colleagues loves them. She says she could eat one a day. I never particularly liked them then yesterday I realized I don't think I have ever had one. I think I always imagined them tasting super dry and crumbly, but not in a good way. It's possible I always connected them with biscotti, which I don't particularly like.
But the real reason for asking the question is I feel like people really like scones and I was wondering if I was the only one who didn't. Glad to know I am not alone...
I love scones. This place near my house serves them warm with lemon curd... I know it sounds wierd... but it is awesome!!! I wish I had one right now with my coffee.
I <3 scones! I too can make a mean one so it looks like we need to have a scone tasting face-off Beenu! I first fell in love with them when I visited the Dushanbe Tea House in Boulder CO. M fave is blueberry and white choclate with tea - YUM! Lucky for me that I have their secret recipe :-)
I like scones that my mom makes. She makes cranberry orange ones. super yummy! I think scones get a bad rap because there so many bad scones out there....they ruin them for the yummy ones.

I love scones, but I prefer homemade to Starbucks, etc. They're ridiculously easy to make.

No!
I don't understand them, therefore I fear them.
Run them out of coffee shops across America!
Yes love them. I believe a scone is basically shortbread.
Yum. Raspberry ones are the best. Actually, raspberry anything is the best.
