Since every car I've ever owned has been a gigantic, ancient ghetto boat, I never learned how to drive a stick. If any of you standard drivers care to teach me, I'd love to learn!
I have never learned to drive stick outside of the bedroom. So, I would have to say automatic. My mother always threatened to buy a car with a stick-shift so she could have her car to herself. Ahh, parents and their empty threats
I learned to drive on a stick, and most of the time, I love it...but dealing with LA (and DC) traffic while driving a stick is a nightmare. I'm perfectly happy with my automatic these days. Of course, Martin hates both of these.

i've been driving stick shift since 16 and i'll drive it until i die.*
*insert penis joke here
Standard = ABSOLUTELY!
Automatic = BORING!
I have always been a better standard driver..... I think I like both my legs doing something at the same time.
Standard, but only because I can. It's a life skill that is slowing dissipating from society, like filmmaking.
I learned to drive standard when I was 17 and the only car I could afford to buy was a stick. Now if I can help it, I'll never drive anything else.
Rob: Believe it or not, I didn't even consider penis jokes when I posted this question. Thanks for taking it there on the first post. :)

(Not like that! Get your mind out of the gutter!)
my preference is automatic - never finished learning how to drive a stick shift.
