There has been so much sad news surrounding the tragedy in Newtown on Friday that I'm yearning for the alternative. What have been your favorite stories of hope, courage, humanity, and communities and people helping one another?

I liked the story of a few golden retrievers who traveled 800 miles from Chicago to help comfort survivors.

I liked the story about the little boy in one of the classrooms who said he knew karate and would be the first to go out. So brave!

Team Hoyt. Also, Terry Fox.
