obviously the stem end.

obviously not the stem end. This is actually the easier way to open a banana. Watch a monkey sometime.

Usually stem end, but if I can't get it to open, then I try the other end. Like a monkey!

Is this a real question? Doesn't everyone open them from the right end?

What Cate said. My Russian friend always tries the other end first, says that's the norm in the motherland.

This is a tangent, but I think it brings a lot of value in your future banana consumption. Since I was 7 or 8 years old, I would only eat sliced bananas and convinced all my friends that I could slice them through the peel before unwrapping them.

what's with all the banana questions?

Like a monkey! From the tip, not the stem (insert middle school, vague sexual joke here). Much easier and less messy. Plus, insects and such that infest bananas enter through the stem end :(
