What is your favorite Bill Murray movie?

It is truly impossible to pick one. When he was in his prime, there was no one better. My personal top five, in no particular order:
1) Groundhog Day
2) What About Bob?
3) Stripes
4) Caddyshack (though, this movie's greatness has much more to do with Chevy Chase's brilliance than with Bill Murray's)
5) Ghostbusters (certainly not Ghostbusters 2)

...

567) Lost in Translation (its only redeeming quality was Bill's very solid Elvis Costello impression)

Well, Old Bill Murray, Caddyshack for certain. Anyone who has golfed with the Dalai Lama is awesome in my book. Nouveau Bill Murray, gotta be Life Aquatic. Hilarious movie with great writing and excellent timing by the Billster. (Shout out for the Zombieland cameo as well).

Seeing how it's summer, I'll go with Meatballs.

Along with What About Bob?, I always loved him in Scrooged. The Zombieland cameo tickled me pink as well.

Zombieland cameo is amazing (the tippy top!). Favorite movie: Rushmore.

Ghostbusters! That movie makes me giggle every single time.

GROUNDHOG DAY

did I mention it was filmed in my hometown of Woodstock, IL and not that cesspool, Punxsutawney?

It would be an insult to Scrooged, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day to rank them against each other.

Rushmore and Groundhog Day. I need to see What About Bob again--haven't watched since I was a kid.

I completely spaced on The Life Aquatic. That, my friends, is an all around fantastic movie, and definitely worth watching on my Netflix app while I'm supposed to be working...not that I would ever do that this afternoon.

Rushmore is the best film he's been in. His bit in Coffee and Cigarettes was pretty funny.

If I went by one I've seen the most, has to be Scrooge. In general, I like "straight man" murray over goofball, so...

Gbusters 1-2
Groundhog Day
Stripes
Meatballs
Lost in Translation

But the award for best movie BM was in (i.e. acted but didn't go all Bill Murray on us) is Royal Tenenbaums
