Season 3 above and beyond. So many dramatic sub-plots . . . Hampsterdam, Avon plotting against Stringer, the rise of Marlo's crew, etc, etc, etc. Colvin's speech in episode 2 of that season is one of the finest scenes in television history IMO.
This is like asking me to choose my favorite child. I love them all in their own way. Four was devastating. I think three made me yell "I hate America!" at Tim.

3! i recently thought i'd like to watch them all again. ohhhhh stringer bell.
i couldnt get passed the third episode of season one. the bad outfits and the crack heads shooting up were too much for me.
4... but 3 is a close second.
Season 3. I am still on season 4 though.
