Is it fair that a rookie, especially one who came up to the majors mid-season (ex: Strasburg), is eligible to play in the All-Star game?

Even as a baseball fan, I can't think of any event more pointless than the All Star game. I'd like to say I'm boycotting until they get rid of the stupid rule that the winning league gets home field during the World Series, but even if they removed that I'd probably still not watch.

The people who are the best that season should be on the team. I don't know if sports are ever fair.

Plus, in the Strasburg example, his milkshake is bringing all the boys to the yard, he'll probably get viewers too. And that is what the advertisers like.
