When you travel for fun, do you stay away until the day you have to return to work or do you schedule a day at home to decompress?

I never leave time to decompress. But I'm type A.

depends on the length of the trip. for a long weekend, I stay away as long as possible. for longer trips, i definitely leave a day to decompress.

It depends on how much decompressing I'd do on that particular vacation, and how much guilt I have about taking an extra day from work.

I try to build in some decompression time if at all possible.

I prefer staycations over traveling for fun. But yeah, an extra day is always helpful for laundry!

i usually stay away as long as i can, but it is nice to have some time to re-adjust to reality.

I used to stay away as long as possible but the older I get the more I appreciate a decompression day, especially for laundry.

Oh and now that I am a crazy dog-lady, I miss my pup and look forward to getting home to see her.

I've done it both ways (once, on Labor Day weekend, inadvertantly) I lean more towards the extra vay-k though.

I'm type A too. I'll plan on getting home between 10 and mindnight on a Sunday in order to be back to work on Monday.
