OMG. This is my secret passion -- girls with guitars in rock bands are soooo hot.

Veruca Salt hands down. Or Liz Phair. Or the girl from Evanescence. Or Shania Twain. The girls from Save Ferris and Paramore are pretty great too.

Jesus. I've been thinking about this one for way too long.

I loves me some Donnas.

Joan Jett. She is the type of woman who probably beat up boys for their lunch money.

Or Pat Benetar. Her warding off of a pimp with stylistic dance moves in "Love is a Battlefield" is epic.

What do you mean by Rocker? It's such a vague term.

My Votes.

Kim Deal. (The Pixies)
Musically the best. Not really a rawk star.

M.I.A. - Not really rock music. But she did sample The Clash in Paper Airplanes. I'm riding the Slumdog bandwagon here.

Karen O. (The Yeah Yeah Yeahs) Awesome music and awesome personality. I think she should win. And she's hot.

I don't know if they count as rockers, but the Mamas from the Mamas and the Papas

Karen O is a legend.

Debbie Harry, Pat Benatar and Joan Jett are also great.

And to throw a new name out there: Shirley Manson of Garbage

Obviously Janis Joplin - no brainer. She's also the best blues, soul, and all around female vocalist of all time (no disrespect to Aretha).

I personally think Joan Jett is overrated.

There are a lot of great rocker chicks out there that aren't exactly in the mainstream too. I don't know if anyone has heard of Nikka Costa, but her live shows kick serious ass. She has a couple of albums out, but they don't do her voice justice because the studios don't capture the soulful, sultry sound.

I could go on and on, but I don't want to take up all your space.

I will second/third the already listed:
Janice Joplin, Chrissy Hynde, Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry, Joan Jett and Pat Benetar.

I’ll also add two more to the list:
Both Patti Smith and Patty Smyth (in this order).
