Hypothetical (for some) : If you lived in DC and did not have a ticket to the inauguration, would you go anyway?

I leave in Maryland and don't have a ticket and am planning on going, so I definitely would if I lived downtown.

Change that: I live in Maryland (not leave). But I'm sure you all figured that out.

I could walk there, but I hate standing, I hate cold, and I hate port-o-potties. If I had a flask, I'd be open to changing my mind.

ooh, my sister, from WI, wants to do this..but I think my future in-laws are already expecting to crash at our place - a ONE bedroom with ONE shower. Sigh

Nah, I think it's much more exciting to audit a struggling biotech company in beautiful downtown Tyson's Corner.

Not a chance. I prefer to enjoy winter events from the comfort of my home or a friend's while drinking mimosas and eating pancakes. Just thinking about the number of idiot tourist there usually are on the mall infuriates me, so I would rather avoid a crowd of 2 million of them.

Yeah no, given my extreme allergy to stupid people in large numbers

Totally. We will be witnessing history.

And I own multiple flasks. Let me know if you would like to borrow one.

Part of me wants to be there to witness history and support Obama. However, it sounds like it is going to be a complete mess and watching the inauguration on a jumbo-tron with millions of people doesn't sound appealing. I've done the new year's in Time Square thing before and I'm too old for that stuff now. In other words, I'll probably run far, far away and watch it on T.W.

Am kinda hesitant about Tuesday, but I completely plan on braving crowds, probable terrible weather, and possibly terrorist attacks to go stand and attempt to glimpse Bruce Springsteen on Sunday. Broooooooce!!!

Nope. Can't stand crowds of confused people and limited toilets.

I'll be having a small inauguration celebration with some friends, lots of champagne and guitar hero world tour. There's no Bruce, but there's Bon Jovi.

YES! because i have a sneaking suspicion that jack bauer is going to show up and prevent some sort of attack.

but i don't have a ticket so i probably won't hear anything. and i don't want to risk having my flask confiscated. the secret service are on to me.

I got a ticket, so I'm going. But even the Washington Post is talking about this: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/local-opinions/

I don't have a ticket, but I am still going.
