What is the worst work uniform you've ever had to wear OR what is the worst work uniform you've seen on someone else?

My candy striper smock.

Just a side note, but does anyone remember how horrid those 'trendy' uniforms were in the fashion show in Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead?

good question... just the other day i was thinking about my Applebees uni in college... completely disgusting, just like Applebees. It consisted of:

black flat shoes (heinous)
navy blue pants(kinda cargo-ughhh)
and a maroon golf shirt (the horror!)

at least there was no required flair, but i really never looked anyone in the eye the whole time i hostessed there.

I went to a Roman Catholic high school. Our uniform (for guys) consisted of a shirt, tie, sweater and khaki slacks. We had no clue why the school was equipped with fire alarms or fire extinguishers. The sweater melted when it was burned and the pants were flame retardant. (Yes, we had sweater burning parties in the school parking lot on the last day each year.)

That glitter shirt Neil Diamond wears. And for God's sake, button it up! The ladies don't wanna see that shag carpet on your chest! Show some class! Hack!

i was the gooney bird at the florist i worked at. yup, did gooney-bird-o-grams where i'd deliver flowers in the costume or go to a kid's birthday party and essentially make them cry.

that's not really a uniform but it's funnier.

Waiting tables at Yokens, thar she Blows seafood restaurant. Old lady dockers burmuda length shorts (which I had to hike up to my belly button)with a black belt I obviously didnt need since I had to squeeze into the shorts, a little boys polyester blue button down t-shirt, hideous black sneakers which resembled little boy's basketball shoes from 4th grade with black socks. And the clothes always smelled like fish. Now that is a pretty picture.

In high school I worked in a video store. I can't think of anything much worse than wearing a crewneck sweatshirt promoting whatever crappy Kevin Costner movie was out at the time.

I have to concur with Sara on the applebees. But I was a line cook so I had to sport a hat, which was a mesh hat with 90s like graphics it looked like the background from the Saved By the Bell's intro.

My friend is a manager at Agent Provocateur in Soho. They all have to wear this pink smock/shirt thing. I don't love it.

I worked at a deli one summer in college and had to wear a green polo to work. It stunk like lunch meat. We called it "deli smelly."

I think Beenu needs to tell what uniform she wore or she's forever banned from QOTD

Never had a real person job except for swim coach so never had a bad work uniform... unless you consider a speedo bad.

when I worked at the movie theater we had two options 1) white shirt with a collar, black pants, black closed toe shoes and disgusting maroon vest 2) same pants and shoes, but a special "Mueller Family Theatres" (yes, the used that spelling) t-shirt. Very quickly, our clothes would get gross and stiff from being constantly splattered with popcorn oil and "butter" so neither option was particularly appealing.

Janice used to make us wear her skirt! (And it fit, thank you very much, Ms. Dickinson). I don't even want to think about where that skirt has been.

I worked at Outback and they made us wear these colored shirts and roll the sleeves up. Looked kind of dorky, but could've been wore. Notice that everyone's answers revolve around restaurants.

when i worked at a doggy day care in seattle we had to wear t-shirts that said: "scratch my butt", "obey", and "bone whore", among others.

yeah...
