What was the name of the great sandwich shop in the town where you went to college and what was the special sandwich you always ordered there?

Bob's Subs. They were warm and delicious. And super cheap. I tried to see if they have a website, but the town of Slippery Rock just might not be in the 90's yet...

Bagel and Deli in Oxford, OH.

I was vegetarian for most of college so I always got the "Weight Watchers" - which it totally wasn't.

Sounds so good. They'd always be open til 4 am on the weekends...

It was the Verdi Mart on the corner of Gov. Nichols and Royal in the French Quarter. The Jazz Po-boy had grilled shrimp, ham, turkey, tomatoes, mushrooms, Swiss and American cheese and WOW sauce on French bread. We'd find a stoop in the Quarter and go to town...

It wasn't a sandwich shop, but a Mexican food stand called Taco Bravo. The requisite item there was called the Boneyard (a burrito the size of a small child)...only available between midnight and 4 am, and only available to guys who struck out at the bars that night...meaning that if there was a woman anywhere in your party, you couldn't get a Boneyard. I, unfortunately, had quite a few Boneyards in my day.

Back at my days at Brown, we used to go to this hot dog joint called Spike's Junkyard Dog in Providence.

Lot of rough and ready guys there, if you know what I mean. Am I right ladies?

I used to get a bunch of 12" hot dogs and it only took me one bite to devour each one.

Yummy!

The Kitchen Door in Austin has fabulous chicken salad sandwiches and great bread. Runner-up: california club (w/ no bacon) from Thundercloud Subs.

The Bagelry in Durham, NH. Jr and Sr year I would get the Super Cheese on a salt bagel and a ginger ale every Saturday and Sunday morning (which was more like 1pm.) It had cheese and more cheese with onions, tomatoes and an amazing mustard/mayo/horseradish sauce. It was potent and delicious.

"Pizza, Wings 'N' Things" in Fredonia, NY - Chicken Finger Sub.

It's a Western NY specialty: chicken fingers in buffalo sauce with provolone and blue cheese dressing. great drunk, even better hungover.

We had this adorable little Scottish restaurant called McDonald's. My favorite sandwich was their specialty called the "Big Mac". It featured two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.
