if im wearing all of my snowboarding gear + ugg boots under 2 down comforters and im still cold, then i turn on the heat. I prefer to spend the ridiculous amounts of money heat supplied by massey coal costs and spend them on thickening my beer blanket each night. with that being said, my heat will stay off until i return back to DC after new years and only be on until february.
I have yet to turn my heat on. Mostly because: a) I grew up in New England with oil heat and my mom used to tell me to put on a sweatshirt. I guess it stuck. b) I'm comfortable enough with sweatpants, long sleeve, sweatshirt, socks, fake uggs, a blanket and a dog so I'm good. c) I have no idea how to turn on my radiator. I'm a dipshit.
I'm cheap and will wait as long as possible. I grew up in a cold house in Maine and we got yelled at to put a sweatshirt on too. I did turn it on a little this morning though. My roommates, on the other hand, just crank it up with total disregard. It makes no sense to have the heat on when you sleep. Just put another blanket on your bed. wow. I'm my mom. sweet.

As John knows, the MI blood is thick - so I usually wait until the roommate continuously complains to turn it on. So far I am winning...barely.

I turn on my heat as soon as it's in the 50s outside. I hate being cold! So yes, it's on in full force.

For me, the temperature is usually the main factor I take into account when turning on the heat
