What TV show or movie that you had high expectations for came the closest to meeting or beating those?

After watching Mad Men, I had high expectations for Breaking Bad. They were definitely exceeded.

Battlestar Galactica

Inception was great. Social Network. Lost let me down the last four seasons and ESP the last season.

Movie: Kill Bill, probably the most jaw dropping experience I've had in a theater

TV: Hmm....I do remember having high expectations for the Daily Show once Jon Stewart took over (I liked his talk show in the 90's) and he topped that...also the new Louis CK show (after the 1st episode) met my high expectations for him

I laughed cried and sat on the edge of my seat with Lost for 5 years. They captivated me for a long time and exceeded all of my expectations until the final episode where they stabbed me in the heart and twisted the knife. I have never been so built up and let down by a tv show!
