yes, but they would immediately be put on the limited profile... aaaand wouldn't be able to post on my wall or pretty much do anything other than see my name.
I am fbook friends with both of my parents. My mom, I don't think, has ever even logged on- and her profile picture is of her back. My father on the other hand gets my status updates to his phone. Not good. I think parents joining fbook was the reason for the creation of the limited profile.
I have facebooked my mom, put some limits on what she can see, and I talked to her about the difference between posting on a wall and sending a message. Luckily she's a private person, so she's not inclined to wall post.
However, I think a couple would be good because she's a witty lady.
I'm friends with my mom. She is a serial "liker." I could write "fuck everything, life sucks" on my wall and five minutes later it's "Laura likes this!"
One day my mom wanted some recent pictures of me, and I told her "just go to Facebook and get them" so she created a profile, a joint profile for her and my dad. She got her photos and I don't think she's been back since.
I've never posted anything to Facebook that I'd have a problem with my mom / dad reading. Luckily my grandmother is over 90, she just got a microwave two years ago, so I figure she'll be 114 before she needs a computer and I'm she she won't remember who I am by then. Also I'll be like 45, and my posts will prob be about taxes or these crazy kids these days.
NOPE! mom kept sending me friend reqeusts and i ignored them. finally i told her that it was never gonna happen. i also don't accept friend reqeusts from aunts and uncles. cousins only (and they get limited profile)
I'm friends with my mom and my stepmom. Stepmom's rad...she keeps posting all this stuff about her going dancing with her friends and all the country music shows she goes to. She's loving life now that her kids are all in college.
Mom, on the other hand...for those of you who know me, you know that my status updates are movie lines, more often than not. Well, one of those lines was from Swingers...you know the one about 'every party is the same, every girl is the same, yadda yadda'. I got a phone call from my mother asking why I hadn't told her that Meg and I broke up.
"No, Mom, we didn't break up! I'm not seeing anyone else! That scenario did not happen! Watch a movie every so often forchrissake!!!"
Luckily I don't think my mom or dad would ever get a facebook account. They still use their work email addresses for correspondence! But if they ever did, I would friend them and limit some stuff or make sure to delete any NSFP (not safe for parents) posts.
no. i told my parents there was an age limit on facebook. my mom like just got gmail anyway, so she'll be long gone before her comfort with technology evolves to handle facebook. it's bad enough that she emails me whenever i use curse words in my gchat status. she thinks the whole world can see it and it's not very nice to use those words and i'll never catch a husband that way.

I'm FB friends with 2 of my parents, my aunts, cousins, and 90 year old step-grandmother. Now that I'm old, there's not much to hide :)
I'm Facebook friends with my stepfather, he posts more pictures than I do. His life is definitely cooler than mine.

We've banned my dad from facebook.
I'm FB friends with my super laid-back dad, but my mom doesn't have a profile. That is probably ideal for everyone involved.

I am FB friends with my mom, two uncles and an aunt. Apparently, my grandmother joined Facebook recently. So I am waiting for that invite.

thankfully - i don't think my parents will ever get interested. i am however facebook friends with my in-laws.
honestly - i think that's worse!
Facebook friends with my parents and my boyfriend's parents. I probably have dug my own grave and buried myself in it but so be it!
nora and i are friends, however she doesn't even know how to post a profile picture!
