When Martin posed this question this morning I said I would rather work in the afternoon and have the morning off. Now that I have had some coffee I am singing another tune - I would definitely rather work in the morning and have the afternoon off.
Absolutely in the morning. When I have work to do on the weekends, if I don't do it in the morning, I have a sense of dread knowing that it's still sitting there. Waiting for me. Mocking me. Taunting me. I swear, it's like the freakin' Telltale Heart if I don't get it done in the morning.
Plus, better to start drinking AFTER you work...or so I've heard.
Dammit people, the real question is, why don't we all get to work half days every day??? But yeah, I second the thoughts on getting it done in the morning.

Morning. Fewer people on Metro when you leave ... you have a hard stop for leaving ... and you can start drinking earlier.

morning. although it is nice to sleep in, laze about and then work a few hours in the afternoon.
even though i'm not a morning person, i'd rather have the afternoon off....so i'd choose the morning.
morning. if i don't get up and start working in the AM, the work just won't get done. plus i like afternoon naps.

I'd prefer morning. As much as I like to sleep in, I think it would actually be harder for me to get motivated for work in the afternoon.
Also, naps sound good.
i am doing that today. morning for sure. have your afternoon free to start drinking as soon as you leave the office.
Mornings, except for Monday, or the Tuesday after a Monday holiday.
i agree with dan. early in the week, i'd rather work in the afternoon. later in the week, morning.

Morning for all the above and also because I can´t sleep in anymore but somehow am more prone to naps..(getting old?).
