Pandora now only let's people listen for 40 hours per month for free. After your 40 hours are used up you are given three options:
1) Pay 99 cents for the rest of the month unlimited;
2) Pay $36 to upgrade to Pandora One; or
3) Not listen again until the next month.

Duh. In this economy? $0.99 per month. Who cares about the unidentified cool features? I doubt they are worth 3x the cost of a 12-month buy.
im the only person in america that doesn't listen to pandora.
I'd switch over to my alternate account and enjoy 40 more hours.
They should really give you a one month trial with all their cool features. However, .99/month isn't that bad. We need to get over the concept of internet=free, we may have to pay for some of the good content out there.
However, ESPN Insider will always suck balls. Not going to pay $7 a month to pay for the insight of the nob jobs who got the UM coaching search wrong every step of the way.
My office blocks Pandora, so I just use the iPod...
However, I'd honestly find another free option...like jango.com. It has more commercials, but it gets the job done.
I'm oddly interested in this change. I am currently at 39 hours and was discussing the state of Pandora's financials with a colleague yesterday. Apparently I talked about it too much because another colleague, whose desk is very close to mine, got up and slapped a dollar bill on my desk and said, "Seriously, it's only a dollar! I'll pay for it." I gave the dollar back and decided I'd probably just pay the 99 cents, especially since I added the Firefox ad block plugin so Pandora is definitely making no money off me.
And Kate, you definitely need to listen to Pandora. I have found some great songs and artists that way.
Scottie, is your office managed by John Lithgow's character in Footloose?
Ha...wouldn't be surprised. My firm's run by way too many old white dudes. They haven't thought to block jango yet...but it's only a matter of time :(
why is unlimited price much more than going month by month? that's dumb.
listen to xpn, it's free!
I guess I'd pay a dollar. Or start listening to the ipod.
Screw Pandora!
Listen to imeem.com or jango.com or last.fm or...
Wait till next month.
I will say the difference in perceived value between free and $0.99 is amazing to me. Think Gladwell wrote something about this a few months back.
I'll double down on Beenu's xpn suggestion. At one point they were continuously streaming the top 100 songs of 2007. Awesome.
listen to kexp.org
i don't do pandora
i listen to pandora but not as much as i listen to my hometown favorite - www.989wclz.com -
anyway, as for pandora, i like my music free - i'll swtich to my other account when i hit my limit.
