As a good Swiss guy, I used to go for 2% religiously. Then I started drinking 1% and now skim. It was hard to go from 2% down, but it's near impossible to go from skim back to 2%. I may as well put half and half on my cereal.
i don't buy milk. since i've moved from the midwest i realized that it's not normal to drink a tall glass of milk when you are thirsty (or with every meal).
i know i should buy skim but i love horizons 1% so that is what i buy.
rob: i grew up drinking a tall glass of milk when i was thirsty and had a glass with every meal. my sister and i would go through a gallon pretty much every other day.
and i definitely drank milk when i got home after a night of boozing at least twice a week in college.
I suppose I actually 'prefer' 2%, but I've been drinking skim for the last year and a half (thanks Meg), so I'm with Martin...damn near impossible to go back. Every time I drink a glass of 2% these days, it feels like someone sprayed Pam cooking spray in my mouth...not...that...I know what that feels...like.
definitely skim. i grew up with 2% and every time i had to go home and drink that i'd tell my parents how i could taste the fat in it. they finally were sufficiently grossed out and switched to skim too.
As a child i refused to drink milk because i hated it! My parents were worried about my nutrition so they sent me to school with a baggie of Ovaltine to put in my little milk carton.

I was raised on 2%, but now prefer 1% because it's kind of the perfect balance. But it's rare that I can get 1% at the Giant so I buy skim.

Soy milk
Love Skim/Fat Free milk. I grew up on it. My mom was a mom of the 80's. It's what they bought, along with Tab and wedge shoes.
But, because my French roommate grew up with whole milk, I have to compromise with 2%. There is a distinct difference.
Skim. I second all of Andrew's comments regarding moms of the 80s.
On a side note: an ex-boyfriend would only drink whole milk. Watching the milk coat the glass while he drank was super gross.
Diet Coke.

i drink a glass of half & half every morning. just to get the day off to a good start.
Drink skim. Prefer chocolate.
i was a long time 2%er until i went to penn state and got hooked on skim. those cows sure knew how to make a delicious glass of skim milk.
i think i only drink whole in europe. it tastes so good over there. not here :(
