Yesterday some of our cognitive testing showed that girls in HS are passing around BCP b/c they can't (won't?) get access to them.

I don't know if it's a feasible study, but it pissed me off.

Public Policy and Women's Studies, eh? How about (since its relevant to my job), how DC gang composition is becoming increasingly female, and what social factors contribute to this development?

Women's Studies, huh? How about:

An Investigative Analysis into the Correlation between Women and the Center of the Universe as it Relates to Having to Slowly and Obliviously Walk Down the Middle of the Metro Escalator in 3"+ Heels While Making the Men Late for Work.

"Lois, I know you're a feminist and that's adorable. But the men are talking." - Peter Griffin

How about... something along the lines of... how girls and young women have greater access to online organizing because of Facebook and other social networking sites...

And, nobody should ever try and walk down the metro escalator in heels.

I think you should do an analysis on why you're getting an MA in Women's Studies and not refilling my dirty martini.

i think anything with those social networking sites will be good.
or maybe you can do something with title ix and see if it has positively or negatively affected retention and graduation rates among female athletes and male athletes percentage-wise.

This is more sociological but, is or isn't j. crew fueling a world of conformist women by selling those madras belts and pearl earrings.

More importantly: the narrowing acheivement gap in math and sciences.

i don't know if you have a specific interest in health policy, but one issue is a lack of access to emerging technologies for women who are at high risk for certain diseases, like genetic tests for breast cancer or diabetes. there's a new documentary coming out on PBS in October called 'in the family'...sorry, it's my soapbox...
