IT. absolutely scared the sh*t out of me when i was younger. I can remember watching it for the first time in a hotel room in Atlanta over Thanksgiving...my dad was stationed their during the first gulf war. i was scared to take a shower and to walk by drains.
E.T.!! I was like 2 years old, and my parents took us all to the theatre. I fell asleep and woke up right at the part where E.T. was all shriveled and gross. Apparently I started shrieking in the theatre, and my mom had to take me out. I've refused to watch it again ever since.
the freddy movies scared me. i had this fear he would come thru the toilet and get me with his scissor hand. my parents were super strict about movies though so that's all i remember scaring me.
ok, so I'm the wimp here but the Disney version of Pinocchio terrified me! From kids turning into donkeys for having too much fun and then Pinocchio getting eaten by that whale...it was too much.
The Secret of Nimh totally scared me but was my little sister's favorite movie. Creepy Ashley.
The Dark Crystal also creeped me out. I think Ashley liked that one too.
But the movie that creeped me out the most was The Neverending Story. I couldn't handle it when we watched it on Presidents' Day in second grade. Instead, I had to go to the next classroom and color a picture of Abraham Lincoln.
The first Nightmare on Elm Street was freaking scary...especially when Nancy and Freddy come face-to-face for the first time and she says "Oh God!!"...and Freddy shows the claw glove...and says "This...is God." Scary crap.
And yeah, Nicodemus from The Secret of Nimh was a scary f&%ker too...damn glowing eyed rat...
Ghostbusters scared the bejesus out of me. But it scared my little brother even more. He was creeped out by ALL movies for a while. Our dad tried to take us to another, not scary movie and we had to leave the theater during the opening credits because my brother was so upset.
Fright Night and American Werewolf in London both creeped me out when I was a wee tot...but they were supposed to be scary, though they were probably not supposed to be viewed by an 8 year old.
squirm.. it was a 70s movie about invader worms that came out of the shower facet... i refused to take a bath for a week when i was a little kid unless my mom was in the bathroom with me. Poltergeist was the creepiest too.
E.T. Hands down. In fact, I'm still scared of him. That part where he's all white and in that coffin thing and his hear is glowing and there are scientists all around? Ew ew ew ew. I saw that movie waaaay too young and it was SO traumatizing.
I have lots. E.T. for sure. The first time I saw it was in the theaters and while we were at the movies, my dad and uncles got in a boating accident and were deemed "missing" all night long (the coast guard found the guys and the boat the next morning!). The second time I watched it, my dog ran outside and got hit by a car and died. I will NEVER see that movie again. Also my babysitter let us watch some movie where an undercover police officer posed as a hooker to find a guy killing prostitutes. I remember the image of a knife sinking into a woman's torso outside a red motel room door. I refused for years to stay in roadside motels with red doors. Also, some movie where Joey Lawrence's mother dies of cancer and he's only like 8 or 9 years old. I slept in my mom's room for a month so that she wouldn't die in her sleep!!!!!!!!

Also, the Dark Crystal is not the genius work I thought it was when I was 6.
Dumbo and fantasia--the trippy scenes freaked me out.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It still creeps me out; that movie should not be shown to kids!

E.T. and Misery. My parents for some reason actually bought me an E.T. doll when it was incredibly clear that he freaked me out.
As for Misery, I totally sneaked into the basement and watched it. Now I'm terrified that some stalked is going to com break my legs.

A friend of mine had a sleepover and forced all of us 11 year old girls to watch Silence of the Lambs. We're not friends anymore.
