I say I'm from Manchester, NH because I lived there from from age 5 to 18 plus four years of college 45 minutes away and my mother lived in the house on Lancelot Ave for 23 years. I always wonder... do people say they're from someplace because they were born there or because they grew up there... because they went to high school there or because their family lives there...
I'm from Riverside, CA. Problem is, not too many people know where Riverside is, so they invariably ask, "Where's Riverside?", so I reply, "It's about 70 miles east of LA", and they say, "Oh, cool, how's LA?", so I just say I'm from LA. Besides...I lived in LA for seven years before moving to DC (but I actually live in Chevy Chase, but no one outside of the DC area knows where Chevy Chase is, so I tell them it's a little town just outside of DC, and they ask "how's DC?", so I just say I live in DC)
It depends who I am talking to and want to impress/show off:
If I'm talking to a British person "I say I'm in DC now!" if I am talking to an American I say "I came post hast from London!" Which is a lie as I have never really lives in London I grew up in a place called Newbury which is tiny and oddly many times when I mention this people say:"Oh yeah I've been to Newbury" and I think:" How? It is a hole...."
good question, i never know how to answer that question because i was born in NY and lived there until i was 12... then moved to massachusetts where i lived until i was 18 and went to college in NH.. then moved to back to NYC 2 years after college... so where am i from???? wah!

Rhode Island. I didn't. My parents did.
Maine because It's the Way Life Should Be!
New Jersey. I didn't originally select it, but I'm re-selecting it this summer.

Woodstock, IL
I went for the drugs...
Rhode Island - and if your from there you really don't select it ... you can't really select until after 18 then you're legal. Now I select Colorado.
And I know where Riverside, CA is! I have some friends from there!

Cleveland. It's easier to start a joke that way.
Texas. I'm a native Houstonian, ex-Austinite. Yee-haw, y'all!

The Mill-by-the-Ford (aka. Milford, NH). My parents decided on the location because it was basically a suburb of Boston.
